How To Support Us

Donate now

Your contribution to the Richard Hampton Jenrette Foundation directly supports our mission to promote the scholarship and preservation of architecture, decorative arts, and historic landscapes. Our properties and collections allow us to provide a dynamic educational setting for students, scholars, and life-long learners to pursue a range of interests.

Jenrette convenes…

... and people advance.

We supported internships at the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, Dumbarton Oaks, the National Building Museum, the National Trust, Mount Vernon, and other prestigious sites who will apply their experience to the first phase of their burgeoning careers.

... and networks are forged.

Our “Preservation in Motion: Student Day” event organized by Jenrette in Washington D.C. brought together professionals from over a dozen institutions and forty students for site visits, panel discussions and professional connection-building.

... and doors open.

Through our grants to the American College of the Building Arts, Clemson University, and the University of Pennsylvania, students earned externships at prestigious sites like George Washington’s Mount Vernon—opening new career pathways in historic trades.

... and places are saved.

We supported the Battersea Foundation’s research and planning for the gardens of Historic Battersea in Petersburg, Virginia, and Springside Gardens in Poughkeepsie, New York, helping set the stage for preservation and activation of the site.

... and communities are served.

By supporting the Smithsonian Folklife Festival’s “Youth in Preserving Culture” theme through funding and craft/trades programming, we served broader communities and engaged young people in preservation.

... and awareness grows.

We convened two blue ribbon groups of renowned decorative arts curators and historic preservation educators this year to share their challenges, achievements, and outlooks, packaging the results as two reports on the state of their fields—with plans for more in 2026 and 2027.
